Halfway through, and I've already learned so many interesting things! I loved "Why Magnus Was Banned from Peru." While it wasn't exactly a burning question, it was a little piece of story that was never explained in TMI, and it made a highly amusing little tale. It was also exciting to see Will and Tessa again. After all, Infernal Devices skipped right from their youth to old age, with Will's dying moments. It's nice to have a little piece in the middle of their life together. I'm wondering if we'll see more of their family in the Shadowhunter Academy books; it seems likely from the previews.
I'm really starting to see the patterns in Magnus's life. He falls in love, then gets his heart broken; everywhere he goes, tragedy comes and he decides to move on. It's interesting seeing how different his early dealings with Shadowhunters are, and also trace the family names through the stories. Graymark, Morgenstern, Josiah Wayland. Magnus's flamboyant personality is always good for a laugh, but between the funny moments you start to see the price he pays for immortality.
